Tiers of government share N627billion

The three tiers of government have shared a total N627 billion allocation for the month of August.

Addressing journalists after the federation account allocation committee meeting in Abuja, permanent secretary of the ministry of finance Mahmud Isah-Dutse said the amount was higher than the previous month by N17.164 billion.
 
He said the Federal Government got N12.87 billion, State government got N41.622 billion, while the Local Government got N29.135 billion respectively.
 
Mahmoud stated that the increase in revenue was due to the increase in production rate and taxes. crude oil export volume and tax collection by FIRS. 
 
 Accountant general of the federation  Ahmed Idris, also assured Nigerian workers that their September salaries will be paid, despite the ongoing warning strike called by the Nigerian Labour Congress
 
Commissioners of finance from the 36 states of the federation attended the meeting.
