2 Suspected Armed Robbers Beaten to a Pulp in Ibadan

Two suspected armed robbers met their Waterloo in the early hours of Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital as they were beaten to a pulp by aggrieved residents.

The suspected robbers, three in number had invaded Iyana Agbala area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital and attempted to rob some houses in the area before luck ran out on them.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the aggrieved residents arrested two of the robbers and tied them before they descended on them.

The suspects were beaten to a pulp while the mob mostly youths set ablaze the motorcycle which conveyed them to the scene.

The suspects who managed to mutter some words due to severe beaten received from the mob claimed they were three in number from Ajibola area of Ode Aje Area of Ibadan.

They confessed to have come to the area to rob some houses before they were arrested.

One of the suspects who spoke with Galaxy TV correspondent said, “please have mercy on me, this is my first experience, I was forced to join the gang. Am a bus driver, I was deceived by my friends please, I am sorry.”

The second suspects caught said, “We were three in number, the last person has escaped to Ode Aje, I am a carpenter, we came here for an operation before we were arrested. I initially trailed a boy who offended me to this area before we decided to rob some houses here.”

The timely arrival of officers of the Oyo State police command from Agodi Division saved the two suspects as the mob were bent on setting them ablaze.

The suspects were rescued by the policemen with a stern warning from the mob that they must face the full wrath of the law.
