Benue Security Adviser Leads Local Troops Against Hoodlums

Members of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Services, the State Livestock Guards and Nigeria Vigilante Group, stormed the Naka - Makurdi express road axis to register their presence in a bid to ensure the safety of residents and commuters.

They were led by the special adviser to Benue State Governor on security and internal affairs, Joseph Har, in motorcades and hundred of motorcycles to rid off activities of kidnappings, banditry, armed herders and other forms of criminalities which has resurfaced along Naka – Makurdi express road and the forest. 

GalaxyTv reports that the security adviser, said the governor approved the deployment of local security outfit following a viral news on social media that a woman was shot dead alongside others while fleeing a kidnap attempt on the same road on the twenty eight of November, 2023 returning to Makurdi after Christmas.

The security adviser states that they were going to visit the traditional ruler of the area in Naka town to seek his support to enable them commence in full swing as the activities of these hoodlums have become worrisome. the traditional ruler, who commended them for the visit, applauded the governor for his care and concern to Benue people.

Meanwhile the State Commander of Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Services, Peter Ajonye, and DSP John Akile, a retired police officer both lauded governor Hyacinth Alia for the initiative and the traditional ruler HrH Daniel Abomtse for pledging support for the exercise, just as the traditional ruler who expresses joy at the development, called on the military to bombard terror enclaves to enable effective clearance of the forest.
