DSS Withdraws Application Seeking Extended Remand Of Igboho's Aides

The Department of State Services has withdrawn an application at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to nullify the bail granted to four of the 12 detained associates of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

DSS through its lawyer told the Presiding judge, Obiora Egwuatu, that the decision to withdraw the suit was made because there is a similar one at the Appeal court.

In a motion filed on Monday 9 August through its lawyer, Idowu Awo, the DSS had urged Justice Obiora Egwuatu to cancel the bail granted Amudat Babatunde, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Oyetunji, and Bamidele Sunday.

These are the four who the DSS claimed had greater involvement in alleged 'arms stockpiling' following their arrest at the Ibadan home of Sunday Adeyemo in the early hours of July 1.

The lawyer representing the 12 applicants in a chat with the media said he is not surprised at the DSS withdrawal of their application.

The lawyer then gave an update on the release order for all twelve and the stage the processing is at the moment.
