EndSARS: Customs Tasks Officers On Rule of Engagement

Officers and Men of the Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service have been advised to be cautious and continue to operate within the provision of the laws.

This is just as authorities of the Command warned those who engage in the illegal business of smuggling to desist from the act.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Customs Area Comptroller, Helen Ngozi while addressing officers of the command In Iseyin as fall out of the Endears protest called for unity of purpose among officers adding that they need to step up the game in curtailing smuggling and other vices in the axis.

Ngozi who also led top officers of the command to the palace of Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Adekunle where issues relating to activities of customs officers, their safety among other were discussed extensively at a closed-door meeting.

The Customs Area Comptroller appealed to the monarch to prevail of his subjects to stop illegal business as well as desist from attacking his men.

She also enjoined residents of the area and other parts of the state to appreciate the good intention of the federal government towards repositioning the economy of the country.

Ngozi assured that anyone arrested in connection with smuggling would be dealt with in line with the provision of the law.
