FRSC Deploy 1000 personnel to man highways

The Anambra state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sunday Ajayi has confirmed that his command has deployed 1000 personnel with special Marshals to major highways in the state, to enable them record a crash-free Easter break.


The sector commander disclosed that mobile courts would also be mounted at various spot to prosecute any motorists that fall foul to road safety rules in the interest of other road users.

The sector commander made this public at a press conference in Awka, the state capital where he said the command has mapped out flashpoint areas where accident may occur and has positioned its personnel to direct unsuspecting motorists aright, to avert possible accident on the highways.

While enumerating some of the efforts put up by the command to ensure travelers coming into the state and out would have a peaceful ride on the state highways, Ajayi urged road users to cooperate with his personnel, and said it would be in the best interest of the people and the corps to see they record zero accident season in this year Easter holidays.

The FRSC boss said the command will not hesitate to instantly book any motorists that disobey the safety rules while driving on the highway.

He cautions motorists to ascertain the roadworthiness of their vehicles before embarking on any journey to avert possible crashes on the Nigerian highways.

Galaxy television gathered that the FRSC sector command had concluded plans to work with other state traffic agencies and volunteers to enable them, man, all spots in the interest of travelers coming home to enjoy their Easter break in Anambra state.
