Indigenes of Borno South from various groups have called for the immediate reinstatement of Senator Ali Ndume and issued a 3 day ultimatum to the Senate.

The protesters, who took to the streets in the state, insist that the suspension of the Borno Senator did not follow due process and should not last more than 14 days.  Armed with placards with various inscriptions bearing their demands, the indigenes called for the immediate reinstatement of suspended Senator.

Reacting to the action of the Senate, the leader of the group from Gwoza, Senator Ndume’s local government area, Muhammed Usman Tanko said that the Senate did not follow due process in suspending their senator.

Mr Tanko said that the 9 local government areas that Senator Ndume is representing in the Senate need adequate representation.

Others who vented their anger like Sunday Wabba, Joseph Okwuama and Naima Alhaji-Sale called for the sack of Senate President, Bukola Saraki and alleged that he is a curse to democracy.

The vocal Borno Senator and former Senate Leader Ali Ndume was on Wednesday suspended for 6 months by the Senate.
