Insurgency: Troops Neutralize More Terrorist, Arrest Kidnappers

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that troops of the Nigerian Military have neutralized 40 terrorists, arrested 191 and rescued 80 kidnapped hostages in the last two weeks.

Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba who disclosed this during biweekly update on military operations said troops also recovered 72 assorted weapons and 338 assorted ammunition in the period under review.
He mentioned that troops of Niger Delta region in the course of their operation arrested 68 perpetrators of theft, identified and destroyed 68 illegal refining sites containing 23 dugout pits, 30 boats, 99 storage tanks, 135 cooking ovens, 5 pumping machines, oke speedboat among other items.

He added that troops in the South-South region also recovered recovered 406,500 litres of stolen crude oil, 252,112 litres of illegally refined AGO, 3,158 litres of DPK and 10,800 litres of PMS with estimated value of Four Hundred and Eight Million One Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Naira (N408,147,460.00) only.
