Makinde Vows to Probe Model School Project Executed by Ajimobi

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has called for an inquiry into the model school project executed by the immediate past administration of Late Abiola Ajimobi.

Makinde, during an unscheduled assessment visit to Oba Akinbiyi High School, Oremeji, Ibadan, to physically assess the structural challenges reported to be troubling educational activities in the school charged the Auditor-General of the state to report back to him on the project.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Governor directed state officials to investigate the reason behind the immediate past administration's termination of the contract for the school building and the subsequent approval for its execution by Direct Labour at the cost of N400 Million

He noted that though the school was only commissioned a few days before the expiration of the tenure of the last administration, the building was no longer functional, with the teachers and students said to no longer feel safe inside the building.

Governor frowned at the structural defects noticed in the building, stating that the walls and the tiles were already giving way just one year after completion.

He declared that his administration would not watch while the lives of teachers and students are endangered as he pledged to investigate the structural challenges in the building.

The Governor declared that anyone found culpable would be made to face the wrath of the law.
