Ogun Vaccinates 800 for COVID-19, Assures Residents of Safety

As part of efforts aimed at curtailing the spread of COVID -19, the Ogun state government says it has vaccinated 800 persons; a figure that represents 10% of the national outlook, with a call to residents to avail themselves for vaccination.

Commissioner for health in the state, Dr Tomi Coker made this known while speaking with newsmen at the state training on HBB/IMNCI for Doctors, Nurses, M and E officers in 5 selected hospitals held in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.

The Commissioner noted that the COVID-19 vaccines are to be distributed to all local governments and ward levels in the state to ensure seamless application of the vaccines.

She added that priority has been given to health workers as they have been at the forefront since the pandemic broke out; with assurances that the vaccines will capture everyone.

Correspondent John Felix reports that the state is the first to receive its first batch of vaccines among the comity of states in the country.
