What could have become a major disaster around Olodo in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital was averted this afternoon when a truck filled with gas fell on the Olodo Iwo road.

Galaxy News learned that the driver of the truck was coming from Iwo road axis of the Olodo-Iwo highway and attempted to cross to the other side before it lost balance and fell.

It was gathered that the content was meant for a gas station located at Olodo.

The timely arrival of officers of the Oyo State fire service, Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp doused tension in the area as most of the commercial vehicle operators and motorcyclists hurriedly left the area.

The blockage of the road by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp to avert disaster, led to serious traffic in the area.

As at the time of this report the content of the truck was being transferred into another truck with a heavy presence of security men.
