Release Of Sowore, Dasuki Christmas Gift

As reactions continue to trail the sudden release of former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Retired) and Omoyele Sowore, convener of the revolution now Movement, an Abuja-based clergy has described the gesture of the Buhari-led government a Christmas present and very well-timed.

In a chat with Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, the Senior Pastor of Restoration Life Assembly, Reverend Udochi Odikanwa said the release of both Dasuki and Sowore after a series of legal battles and the attendant controversies now gives the government some form of leverage.

Sambo Dasuki who was NSA in the Goodluck Jonathan government had been in custody for about four years despite series of court judgements ordering his release, while Sowore despite having met his bail conditions was re-arrested in court by the DSS.

The release of the duo followed a directive from the Office of Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, to that effect.
