Task-Force impound motorcycles in Delta

The Delta state government through the ministry of transport Task-force have impounded over a hundred commercial motorcycles plying the busy Warri expressway.

This is coming four years after the state government placed a ban on commercial motorcycles in Warri, Asaba and some major cities in the state.

The exercise which started as early as 6.3Oam in the morning was supervised by the commissioner for transport, Vincent Uduaghan as traffic managers and Task-force arrange the seized motorcycles in different trucks.

Speaking on the exercise, the transport commissioner said commercial motorcyclists were warned before the exercise.

He stressed that the ban had been in place for long without them heeding to warning.

Meanwhile, the seized motorcycles were packed on the back of trucks to the office of the Delta State Traffic Managers (DESTMA), while owners of the seized motorcycles who could not speak facing camera for fear of being arrested, threatened to attack traffic officers seen in the area after today’s exercise.
