UPN chieftain calls for hate speech bill

A chieftain‎ of the unity party of Nigeria, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has urged the Federal government to pass a bill that would guide hate speeches on the premise that such speech would be proven to be in order.

This is coming against the backdrop of the Federal government’s move to enact a law to curb hate speeches.

Paseda says every leader must have the ability to listen and absolve criticism be it constructive or destructive criticism.

Recall that at the last meeting of the National Economic Council it was agreed by the federal and state governments that a special court be established for the arrest and prosecution of purveyors of hate speeches, kidnapping and terrorist acts.
