Buhari represents Magu's name

President Muhammadu Buhari has represented the name of Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) to the Senate.


 

A letter read by the Senate president, Bukola Saraki before the Senate said that the presidency did not accept the Interim report of the Senate on the security report against Ibrahim Magu.

On the issue of the Senate Recommendation for the Sack of the secretary to the government of the federation, Babacha Lawal over his alleged involvement in IDP contract saga, the presidency refused the recommendation on the grounds that the Senate committee did not follow constitutional provision of fair hearing.

Galaxy television correspondent, Onuora Aninwobodo, gathered that the chairman of the committee that investigated the alleged involvement of the SGF in the IDP contract saga, Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna central while making his submissions described the president’s grounds for rejecting the recommendations as false and laced with lies.   

Senator Sani showed some documents to prove that the doctrine of fair hearing and due process was followed in the committee findings.

He equally said that 7Members of the committee signed the recommendations of the committee, against the presidency resolve that only 3 out of the 9 member committee signed the report.
