Buhari to appear before Reps
The House of Representatives has invited President Muhammadu Buhari to appear before it to give explanations to the spate of killings in many parts of the country.
The House also passed a vote of no confidence on the Service Chiefs and called for new ones to inject fresh ideas to address the spate of insecurity.

The House further resolved to suspend sitting for three legislative days to express their displeasure over the recurring killings.

The resolutions followed the unanimous adoption of a motion under matters of urgent public importance moved by Mark Gbilah.

Moving the motion, Gbillah expresses worry that Benue remained under attack by armed men despite the deployment of security agencies to check incessant killing in the state.

Gbillah however urged the Federal Government to deploy the requisite amount of personnel and equipment to flush out the perpetrators of the heinous killings in Benue.

Contributing, Edward Pwajok emphasised on the need for the leadership of the National Assembly to sit with the President to explain the feelings of Nigerians over the killings.

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of plenary, Chairman House Committee on Media and Publicity, Abdulrazak Namdas said the resolution to invite the president was borne out of the belief that some security agencies were not carrying out his instructions appropriately.

Subsequently,  the House, directed all the committees mandated to investigate the killings to submit their reports immediately.
