Gunshot in the Villa: President Not Threatened - Shehu

Four days after gunshots were fired inside the presidential villa, the presidency says President Muhammadu Buhari’s life is not threatened by the incident.

A statement issued on Sunday, by the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu indicate that the president has, however, approved an investigation into the incident, which led to the arrest and detention of security details assigned to the First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari last Thursday.

The Presidential spokesman acknowledged that the shooting took place outside the main residence of the president, noting that the personnel who fired shots are currently being questioned by relevant security agencies in charge of them.

He assured that the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, is not, and was not at any time in any form of danger arising, either from deadly infections or the reported incident by security personnel which is currently under investigation.
