INEC parleys stakeholders on voters registration

As part of measures to ensure that Bayelsa state have a complete voters register before the 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) have parleyed stakeholders on the seven days display of complete voters register across the 1,800 polling units in the state.


The stakeholders meeting which includes security operatives, civil society organizations and community leaders, is aimed towards sanitizing the list by removing dead people’s names and tackling  issues of multiple registration.

Addressing stakeholders, the administrative secretary of INEC in Bayelsa state Mr. Lebari  Sampson spoke on the exercise as the state director, National Orientation Agency cautions voters.

On their part, the Bayelsa police commissioner who was represented by a superintendent of police, the state inter party advisory council chairman and a CLO member express their views.

INEC is expected to brief newsmen after the seven days display of the complete voters register after the names of dead persons have been expunged from the list of eligible voters.
