NEC: PDP Will Remain Strong - Secondus

In the wake of the defection of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to the All Progressive Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party says the party will remain strong.

National Chairman of the Party Uche Seconds at PDP 90th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting said the exit of the governor will not affect its strength in the state and the South-East.

He also said members of PDP in the National Assembly remains in the party, affirming that many Ebonyi state government officials have resigned from their posts because they are unwilling to join Umahi in APC.

Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues said the 15 governors of PDP are working together for stability and strengthening of the party.

He assured that very soon the party will show its strength again as they are committed to good governance in order to make the party stronger.

Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin, said PDP will remain strong in Ebonyi State despite the exit of Governor David Umahi.

Jibrin expressed delight that the party’s National Working Committee took proactive steps to ensure that Umahi did not take undue advantage of the PDP structure in the state.
