A notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Tukur Sharme, was killed in a clash with a rival group in the forest, along with members of his gang. Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State's Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, announced the development on Monday.

Aruwan said Sharme and others died in a violent clash with another gang, during which two rival bandits were also killed. The incident reportedly allowed some kidnapped victims to escape. He added that the clash occurred in the Rijana and Kaso Forests, spanning parts of Kachia, Chikun, and Kajuru LGAs. Intelligence reports suggest that five injured bandits are still hiding in the area, seeking medical aid.
