The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas , has acknowledged that despite recent progress in addressing insecurity, Nigeria continues to face significant challenges.

He made this remark in his welcome speech during the House’s plenary session on Wednesday, following its resumption from the annual recess.

Abbas highlighted that since the last session, Nigeria has experienced notable political, economic, and security developments.

He further announced that the House would organize a legislative security summit in the final quarter of the year, with a focus on reforms aimed at enhancing interagency collaboration and improving the use of technology to tackle insecurity.

These issues, he said, would be prioritized in the remaining session of the 10th House.
